We are not SASSA
SRD Status Check Za is an independent information website. It is not part of the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA), the Department of Social Development or the South African Government. We have no connection to them, and none of them has approved, sponsored or endorsed this site. We do not run the SRD portal, and we cannot see, change, approve or speed up any application.
We do not use the SASSA logo or the South African coat of arms. We use the names SASSA, SRD and the grant names only to describe the services you are looking for, and their owners keep all rights in them.
Information only, not advice
Our guides explain how official processes work, in plain language. They are general information and not legal, financial or professional advice. They cannot take your personal circumstances into account. For a decision about your own money, rights or application, ask SASSA, or speak to a qualified adviser.
Accuracy and timing
We write every guide from SASSA publications, Department of Social Development notices, gov.za statements and SAnews reports, and we check them as described in our editorial policy. Even so, grant rules, amounts and payment dates can change at short notice. The November 2026 payment dates, for example, were revised on 15 October 2026 because of the local government elections.
Each page shows the date on which it was last updated, and the footer shows when our facts were last checked. Look at that date before you rely on a page, and confirm anything urgent with SASSA. Where something is not confirmed, we label it Estimated or Not published. We make no promise that any application will be approved or paid, or when.
Translations
The language menu in the header uses Google Translate, which translates the page automatically. We do not write, check or correct the translated text, and machine translation can make mistakes, especially with dates, amounts, phone numbers and the names of grants and statuses. The English page is the version we write and check. If anything in a translation matters to your application, compare it with the English page and confirm it with SASSA.
Our tools give guidance only
The tools on this site, such as the status decoder, the pay-window finder, the eligibility checker, the deadline tool and the link checker, give general guidance. Their results are not decisions. SASSA alone decides whether an application is approved, declined or paid. The tools run in your browser, and nothing you type into them is stored or sent to us. They can still be wrong if your situation is unusual or a rule has changed.
Screenshots
Some guides show screenshots of publicly accessible official pages, such as the SRD portal, to illustrate each step. The screenshots belong to their owners and are shown only to explain how the process works. Portal screens change, so yours may look slightly different. Our screenshots are not a replacement for the live page.
External links
We link to official sources such as SASSA, the Department of Social Development, gov.za and SAnews. We do not control those websites, and a link does not mean that we are responsible for what they publish. Addresses can change. If you reach a site through a message or an advertisement, do not enter personal details until you have checked the address against our official links and scam warning page.
Advertising
The site may show ads served by Google AdSense on some guide pages. Google’s systems choose the ads, not us. An ad is not an endorsement, and we do not endorse any advertiser. Nobody can speed up, unblock or approve a grant for a fee, so ignore any ad that says otherwise. Ads never appear on this page or our other policy pages. Our privacy policy and cookie policy explain how advertising cookies work and how to opt out.
