If you are looking for SASSA dates, here is the short version. The October 2026 payments for the main grants were scheduled for 2 October (older persons), 5 October (disability) and 6 October (children’s grants). The next payments are the revised November dates, set around the 4 November local government elections. We last checked every date below against the sources on 2 November 2026.

What are the next SASSA payment dates?

These are the dates to plan around. They come from the Department of Social Development’s 2026/27 schedule, as revised by SASSA on 15 October 2026 and reported by SAnews.

Friday 30 October 2026 Older persons grant, revised
Monday 2 November 2026 Disability grants, revised
Tuesday 3 November 2026 Children’s grants, revised
Thursday 5 November 2026 Grants under review

After that, December goes back to the early-month pattern: older persons on 2 December, disability on 3 December and children’s grants on 4 December. If your grant goes into a bank account, the money shows on your statement only after your bank has processed it, so look at the date of the credit and not only at your balance.

The full 2026/27 payment table

The table runs from April 2026 to March 2027 and covers the three groups that SASSA schedules together: older persons, disability and children’s grants. Past months stay in the table because many people look back at an earlier month to match a bank deposit.

MonthOlder personsDisabilityChildren’s grants
April 2026 2 April 7 April 8 April
May 2026 5 May 6 May 7 May
June 2026 2 June 3 June 4 June
July 2026 2 July 3 July 6 July
August 2026 4 August 5 August 6 August
September 2026 2 September 3 September 4 September
October 2026 2 October 5 October 6 October
November 2026 Revised Friday 30 October Monday 2 November Tuesday 3 November
December 2026 2 December 3 December 4 December
January 2027 5 January 6 January 7 January
February 2027 2 February 3 February 4 February
March 2027 2 March 3 March 4 March

Dates are paid on or after the day shown, and a weekend or public holiday moves a payment to the next working day.

We update the table whenever a date changes and log the change on our corrections and updates page. If you want the year laid out quarter by quarter, with notes on what stands out in each stretch, read the SASSA payment schedule for 2026/27.

How do you read the schedule?

Older persons first, then disability, then children

In every month of the table the order is the same. The older persons grant is paid first, the disability grant next and the children’s grants last. The gap between them is often one day, but not always. In April 2026 the three dates were 2, 7 and 8 April, and in October they were 2, 5 and 6 October. Read your own column instead of assuming it is “the day after”.

Not every grant has its own column. The table has three, and we have not confirmed in which group some of the smaller grants are scheduled, so ask SASSA if you receive one of those. Use this guide to find the column that applies to you:

Weekends, public holidays and “on or after”

A date in the table is the day SASSA pays from its side, on or after the day shown. When a date falls on a weekend or a public holiday, the payment moves to the next working day. Any other change has to be announced by SASSA. At our last check, the only announced revision in the 2026/27 table was November.

When the money reaches your account

SASSA’s date and your bank’s date are not always the same day. We have no verified timings for any bank, so we give none. Do this instead: open your statement, find last month’s grant and note the day it appeared. That day is a far better guide to when this month’s money will show than a rumour in a group chat.

Why were the November 2026 payment dates revised?

Local government elections take place on 4 November 2026. On 15 October 2026 SAnews reported that SASSA had revised the November payment dates: older persons on Friday 30 October, disability grants on Monday 2 November and children’s grants on Tuesday 3 November. Grants under review are paid on Thursday 5 November 2026. You can read the report on the SAnews website.

Three practical points follow from the revision:

  • The older persons date is in October. Someone who usually expects the grant in the first days of the month will see it on 30 October. If it arrives on that day, it is November’s payment on the revised date, not a mistake and not an extra payment.
  • Grants under review have their own date. We have not seen a fuller definition of which cases that covers. If SASSA has told you that your grant is under review, Thursday 5 November is the date to watch, and the call centre can confirm your case.
  • Offices are not the answer. SASSA asked beneficiaries not to visit offices unnecessarily, because payments will follow the announced schedule.

The month-by-month pages carry the detail for each date: November 2026 and December 2026.

Where does the SRD grant fit?

SRD is the one grant you will not find in the table. SASSA does not publish a fixed SRD calendar. It pays the grant inside a window, and every approved month shows its own pay day on your status card. The amount is R370 a month, and the grant is funded to 31 March 2027.

A common mistake is to look for SRD in the main-grant table and decide that you have been missed. The two work differently, so a person on SRD should not expect the same days as an older persons or disability payment. Any SRD window you see online for a month is an estimate unless it is on your own card. In our SRD payment dates guide every window is labelled Confirmed, Estimated or Not published, and the guide explains how to read your card. If your card says approved and no money has arrived, go to SRD approved but no payment.

How do you check a payment date that someone sends you?

Payment dates travel fast on social media and in group chats, and some of them are wrong or made up. Before you act on one, ask three questions:

  1. Does it name its source? A real date can be traced to SASSA, the Department of Social Development or SAnews. “My cousin heard” cannot.
  2. Does it match the table above? If a post gives a main-grant date that is not in the table, treat it as unconfirmed until SASSA announces it.
  3. Does it ask you for anything? A date is information. If the same message asks for a fee, a PIN, an OTP or your bank details, it is a scam and not a notice.

Our official SASSA links and scam warning page shows which web addresses are official and which two fake SRD sites SAnews has named.

What if a SASSA payment does not arrive?

Work through these steps in order. They are for the older persons, disability and children’s grants. For SRD, use the guide linked above.

  1. Check the date for your group. Find your column in the table and allow for weekends and public holidays, which move a payment to the next working day.
  2. Check your statement, not only your balance. Look at the list of credits and debits. A payment can arrive and be used the same day by a debit order or a fee.
  3. Check the account SASSA pays into. Make sure it is still open, and think about whether you have changed bank, card or cellphone number recently without telling SASSA.
  4. Give your bank time to process, then contact SASSA. Phone the toll-free call centre on 0800 60 10 11 (weekday working hours; confirm on sassa.gov.za), or email [email protected] with a screenshot of your statement lines. Our SASSA contact numbers guide lists every verified channel.
  5. Visit an office only if you are told to. Take your original ID. The office directory is on sassa.gov.za, and our SASSA offices near me guide explains how to use it.
Safety note. Never share your PIN or OTP with anyone, and never pay a person to check, fix or speed up a grant. A call or message that asks for a fee to “release” your money is a scam. Suspected fraud can be reported on SASSA’s anti-fraud line, 0800 701 701.

How we keep these dates current

The table comes from the Department of Social Development’s 2026/27 schedule, and the November row reflects SASSA’s revision of 15 October 2026. We show the date of our last check at the top of the page, we label anything unconfirmed, and we list every change on the corrections page. We are an independent guide and not SASSA, so for a decision that matters, such as whether to travel to an office, confirm with SASSA on its official channels first.
