People use SRD Status Check Za to plan around payments, so a wrong date or amount can cost someone real money. If we get a fact wrong, we fix it, and we say so here in public. This page is where every correction and every significant update is recorded.

Our commitment

  • We correct confirmed mistakes as soon as we can, and we treat errors in dates, amounts and contact details as urgent.
  • We never change a date, an amount or a rule quietly. The page shows a new updated date, and the change is logged below.
  • We say what changed, not only that something did.
  • We do not remove a mistake from the record. A corrected error stays in the log.

Our editorial policy explains how we check facts in the first place.

Why we keep a public log

Grant facts move. The November 2026 payment dates, for example, were revised on 15 October 2026 because of the 4 November local government elections, and the log below shows the day we changed our page to match. A public record lets you see what changed, when, and on which page, so you can judge how fresh a guide is and whether something you already relied on has moved.

How to report a mistake

Write to us using the details on our contact page, or email [email protected] with “Correction” in the subject line. Tell us which page it is on, what is wrong and what you think is right. A link to a public official page is the best evidence. We check your report against our sources, reply within about five working days, and record any fix below.

Never send your ID number, cellphone number, PIN, OTP or bank details with a report. We do not need them, and we will not use them.

How we classify changes

Each line in the log has one of three types.

TypeWhat it meansExample
CorrectionWe published something that was wrong, and we fixed it.A wrong contact detail or amount.
UpdateThe facts changed in the real world, and we changed the page to match.A payment date that SASSA revised.
NewWe published a new page or a major new section.A new guide, or the launch of the site.

We do not log small edits such as spelling, wording and layout. We log any change to a date, an amount, a rule, a contact detail or a warning, because those are the things a reader might already have relied on.

The log

The newest entries come first. Where a change affects a single page, the page address is a link.

DateTypePageWhat changed
2 November 2026 Update /will-the-srd-grant-end-in-2027/ Added the EWN report of 22 October 2026. It says the Finance Minister made no pronouncement on SRD in the mid-term budget statement and that budget documents indicate an extension, while GroundUp and The Witness say he said it. The extension is still reported, not confirmed, with no end date or amount.
2 November 2026 Update Payment dates, grant amounts and contact numbers Re-checked against SAnews (the 15 October 2026 revision for the 4 November elections), the Department of Social Development 2026/27 schedule and the SASSA 2026 booklet. No date, amount or number needed to change.
26 October 2026 Update /will-the-srd-grant-end-in-2027/ Added a clearly marked "reported, not confirmed" note: news outlets reported on 21 October 2026 that the mid-term budget extends the SRD grant for another year. No end date or amount was given, and the Treasury speech text does not mention it. The confirmed position (funded to 31 March 2027 in the February 2026 Budget Review) is unchanged. The same note was added to the news page and the homepage.
25 October 2026 New Whole site Site published. Every guide was first written from the sources listed on the page and checked on this date.
25 October 2026 Update /sassa-payment-dates/november-2026/ November 2026 payment dates for older persons, disability and children’s grants updated to the revised dates SASSA announced on 15 October 2026 because of the 4 November local government elections.

After you read the log

If a change affects you, check the page it relates to and confirm anything urgent with SASSA. The disclaimer explains the limits of what we can promise, and the official links and scam warning page lists the channels to use for your own application.
